Structured primarily around five major international companies-each in a specific field-(EADS and Dassault in the field of aviation, Nexter in land weapons, DCNS in naval and Thales in electronics), the defense industry is constructed of a network of thousands of SMEs (engine and equiptment manufactures in aerospace and shipbuilding, subcontractors in metallurgy, plastics, industrial maintenance, computer services, and many more.).
Only a community frame can allow the industrial companies from Europe to face the competition of the American companies that are working together intensively and are having an extensive internal market.
EDM Bordeaux will bring together industry professionnals from the fields of air, land, and naval defense. It will connect them through a system of targeted pre-programmed business meetings and a conference program specifically designed to address the current issues. It will focus on improving export competitiveness and strenghtening the european industrial base.
